Need Wall Painting Ideas? Pick the Right Paint Color for Your Home Interior!
Daymond here! Are you planning on repainting the walls of your house? Well,
great! New paint on the walls can give your home interior a real boost, but
which paint colors are most suitable???
It all starts with a plan! So, think about which effect you
want to achieve with your new wall paint color scheme.
Do you want to make your room look . . .
- Bigger & higher? Choose light paint colors for your wall and ceiling.
- Smaller & lower? Choose dark paint colors for your wall and ceiling.
- More square? Paint the two smallest walls in a darker color than the rest.
- Long? Choose wall paper with horizontal stripes.
Pick your paint colors correctly.
After considering the effect you want to achieve, it will be
time to pick the color(s). You must consider every color has an inherent
effect.
- White makes a space look bigger. It reflects light well too. However, it can sometimes seem a bit monotonous.
- Grey is a neutral, peaceful color that will also make your room bigger as well. However, if it’s too dark, it becomes gloomy.
- Black is a difficult color. It can look modern and stylish, but it is very dominant. Before you use this color on your walls, you must be sure about its wall placement.
- Blue and Green are natural colors. When used, they tend to have peaceful effects. The lighter these colors are, the more peaceful and serene they seem.
- Yellow allows you to invite the sun in. Both yellow and red may evoke warm feelings, but they are also quite aggressive. You don’t want to overdo it with these.
The suggestions above are just a few. If you are not sure about
your paint color choice yet, then try tentative paint colors on one square

home, especially if you plan on making it attractive to potential home buyers in
the future!
So Let’s get to work!
Once you make those paint color choices, break out your paint
rollers and brushes. And don’t forget: if you are painting over old wall paint,
then apply a white layer first. This will help you avoid mixing the new color
with the old one. Most importantly, make sure you acquire enough paint to
complete your paint project. For smooth results, you may need to apply up to
three layers. Just make sure you apply each layer after the previous layer has
dried, to avoid stripes or stains.
Good luck!
